Greater HIV Awareness Is Our Goal This tour has been said to be one the best independent artist concert tours this summer, The $tar $tudded City Tour that's promoting HIV/AIDS Awareness, is scheduled to launch at the beginning of this summer. This movement is projected to visit more than twenty cities and will include performances from some of the hottest major and independent artists in the United States.
The $tar $tudded City Tour was created and organized by a joint venture between Jinn Douglas of MJ's & Company and founder of Troo Dealaz Entertainment (both based in Dallas, TX); and business partner Ms. Tionyo “Mz. B. Diamond” Keesley, the CEO and founder of Diamond Enterpri$ez Nationwide LLC (launched in South Carolina). Each of the tours organizers have been touched personally by HIV and they all have made it their goal to make communities around the country aware of the severity of the issue.
Jinn Douglas, of Troo Dealaz Entertainment, began pondering of executing the concept for the tour in late 2011 after working in the community with patients diagnosed with HIV. Jinn’s personal contact with HIV patients drove her to create the concept for The $tar $tudded City Tour as a way to inform our youth of the seriousness of HIV. “I look at my own children and I know it would be great if they would practice abstinence and loved themselves enough to simply say NO. As a parent I also realize that they should be aware of the seriousness of this disease so when they reach the appropriate age to experiment, they will practice safe sex” Ms. Douglas said.
The tours primary purpose is to expand HIV/AIDS awareness in our communities with promotions before the events and distribution of HIV/AIDS awareness materials at the concerts. The tour will also provide an opportunity for great independent recording artists and comedians, to perform in front of new audiences that may otherwise not have been exposed to their talents at any other given time.
Since the beginning of the HIV and AIDS epidemic well over half a million people have died of AIDS in America1 – the equivalent of the entire population of Las Vegas, Nevada. This fact hits close to home for one of the other organizers of the $tar $tudded City Tour. Tionyo “Mz. B. Diamond” Keesley, the founder of Diamond Enterpri$ez Nationwide LLC, recently discovered that a member of her immediate family had contracted the virus. The experience has also opened her eyes to the issue. She said “HIV/AIDS awareness has taken a back seat in the media. Many people really do not realize how much the virus affects the world, unless someone dear to them, is diagnosed with the disease.” Hearing about it on the radio, watching it on television, reading about it on the internet is nothing compared to watching someone live with it. Ms. Keesley and the other organizers of the $tar $tudded City Tour are committed to effectively inform communities around the country about the seriousness of the epidemic during the tour this summer.
The $tar $tudded City Tour’s primary goal is to bring the HIV/AIDS awareness back into focus in our communities during their events. The virus is not racist and does not discriminate due to a person’s location in the United States or gender. One of the greatest concerns is that the age of people contracting the virus is getting younger each year. When a person is diagnosed with the virus, they learn to live with it, but the organizers of the $tar $tudded City Tour are committed to educating young people so they do not contract the virus in the first place.
Everyone involved with the $tar $tudded City Tour look forward to support from everyone this summer as the tour comes to a city near you. The major and independent artists performing on the tour believe in the movement and are also committed to bringing more attention to HIV/AIDS awareness in communities across the country.
